Moral Injury Summit

Healing Trauma & Moral Injury through meaning, theory & practice.
Due to their exposure to traumatic events and lack of safety, those subjected to disasters, work related trauma and anthropogenic events such as war or human trafficking will experience a significantly higher threat to their physical and psychological well-being.
The acutely unique synergistic effects of exposure, helplessness, isolation, intergenerational reenactment or captivity create a higher rate of PTMI - Post Traumatic Moral Injury for most casualties.

In Tribal Theory, Barbara delivers her groundbreaking work on Soul Repair; Sensory Dialogue & Symbolics to witness & address the roots of Post Moral Injury &  Intergenerational Trauma thus making meaning in the healing process.

Complimenting her work, Moving the Human Spirit provides a safe space with guidance to honor sacred story telling and healing within the Trauma spectrum. These Trauma Informed Coaches work with gentle inquiry changing negative conditions while creating supportive recovery.

We are all looking for a safe place to be our Authentic Selves and contribute to our community, family, work, our social tribe. If we cannot accomplish this we feel dis-placed, dis-eased, dis-order. Without a feeling of safety our body, mind and spirit will respond with maladaptive behaviours like OCD, Panic Attacks, Anxiety. Many of us are told there is something wrong with us instead of the reality that we have been displaced and struggling to survive in a place of fear, where we are a ‘misfit’. - Barbara Allyn

OUR GOAL

Deliver the tools required for survivors to make meaning and heal from trauma.

“The 2019 Moral Injury Summit was truly life changing for me. Living in such a small town with deeply limited access to information about Trauma Informed Practice, I had been feeling so isolated and uncertain on my journey and was deeply lacking conversation and acknowledgement related to my experiences and symptoms. Attending the summit was hands down, one of the most profoundly validating experiences of my life. Barb, Cindy, Brad and Susan's compassion, openness and ability to present information in a tangible, accessible and encouraging way created an environment of hope and inspiration for me. I no longer feel so alone and now know that I have resources and a community to support me on my healing journey in a way that makes sense to me. It is time for our community to begin to look at the symptoms of trauma in different ways - ways that view those who have experienced trauma not as inherently broken and flawed, but capable of accessing their own inner healers given the right support, information and understanding. The Moral Injury Summit provided me with just this. It was an invaluable event for Kenora."   - Moral Injury Summit attendee - Kenora Ontario
